Kathy Borer has been strengthening children and their families since beginning her professional career
in 1988 in a variety of different positions and disciplines in local, national and international
communities.  Currently, she is licensed in Minnesota as an RN and a Licensed Independent Clinical
Social Worker.

Her clinical focus is very broad and encompasses issues including anxiety, depression and attentional
difficulties. She has specialized training and a passion for working with children who have experienced
difficult or maladaptive attachment and trauma.   Her practice focuses on children ranging in age from
18 months to young adulthood.   Due to her broad educational base, she is able to provide a holistic
and balanced approach for children and their families.

When scheduling the first appointment, be aware that Kathy prefers to meet with the parents first –
without the child.  During this meeting, Kathy is able to get a strong sense of the child, family system
and impact from the environment.  In this meeting, Kathy and the parents/guardian begin creating the
working relationship and plan to best meet the needs of the child and family.

Due to the great flexibility affordable in private practice as well as strong creative problem-solving
ability, Kathy is well equip to meet the diverse needs of her clientèle.
